My kids come to my office to work on projects
Guest post written by Derick Burks
The first time I suggested that my teenaged son come to my office to work on a paper he was writing it seemed like a good enough idea. The internet at the house was really slow and so I suggested he come to my office to use our fast internet from t1internet.com. He rode the bus over after school and got to work on my laptop while I worked on my desktop. Ever few minutes he would get up from the computer and pace around the room and fidget. It was the most distracting thing on Earth. No wonder the kid can never finish any homework within a decent amount of time. He spends all of his quiet time pacing the floor and not doing any actual work. I asked him if he needed help and he practically wanted me to write the paper for him. I don’t even know why he asks me things like that when he knows good and well that I am no pushover. He should write his own paper and get his own grade!

Cleaning up.
Hubby and I are trying to clean up and donate some stuff to the Habitat of humanity. He already took some chairs to donate. TV is coming up but it's just to heavy to carry. We also have a lot of baby stuff to donate. We are planning of giving it to family or friends but we don't have any one to give. So, we decided to just donate it. Hopefully, we can give it away soon so that we can have space. Have a good night all.

Gloomy day.
Woke up and outside looks like it's going to rain or snow. It might be a cold day today. No grcery shopping for sure. We'll do it tomorrow after going to check on Maddie's preschool. Also, hubby has to go to Costco for wheel alignment on my car. Hopefully, it will be a quick one. Got to go. Have a good day all.
Emailing parents
Author: Dorsey Velasquez
My husband is a teacher and he always has crazy stories about the parents of the students that he teaches. Apparently, the parents have access to my husband’s grade book online. My husband told me that this is new as of last year. When I was in high school, my parents had no idea what was going on with my grades until my report card was sent home at the end of each semester. I am also pretty sure that I had some teachers that made up grades for students based on their behavior in class. These days, the parents look at every grade for the students and if they have any questions or issues, they immediately email the teacher. My husband had an email from an upset parent the other day that he delayed responding to until he got home. He was pretty worked up about it and wanted to get my input before he sent his response. I am glad that we now have internet at our house so he can do that. I found our internet provider by searching for “wireless internet service Lowell” and we have been pleased thus far. I helped my husband with his response to the parent and I think that his response was professional. The parent was upset that his child had a zero on a test, but the student had been caught cheating in class. I think that a lot of kids these days are enabled by their parents who refuse to provide discipline at home.
